Job Description for Human Resource Officer at Lewisstores

Job Summary:

Lewisstores is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resource Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic HR support to our organization, focusing on recruitment and selection, industrial relations, and HR operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective recruitment and selection strategies to attract top talent
  • Provide industrial relations support to management, ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations
  • Collaborate with payroll to finalize appointments and ensure accurate employee data
  • Support the safety team at Head Office, promoting a safe and healthy work environment
  • Provide HR guidance and support to employees, addressing queries and concerns
  • Conduct performance management and employee development programs
  • Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution and disciplinary procedures
  • Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with employment equity and labor laws

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience in HR, preferably in a generalist role
  • Sound experience in industrial relations and recruitment and selection
  • Certificate in HR or related field
  • Good planning, interpersonal, and analytical skills
  • Effective writing skills in English
  • Valid code 08 driving license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BA/BSc in HR or related field
  • Professional certifications in HR, such as SHRM or HRCI
