EMCO Corporation is seeking a skilled Water Meter Technician to join our dedicated water meter division. The selected candidate will be responsible for traveling to various job sites across the region to carry out essential installation and maintenance tasks.
Key Qualifications
Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous, but EMCO Corporation is open to training the right individual.
Essential Skills
- Proficient in using navigation devices such as handheld computers and GPS systems.
- Strong customer service abilities.
Familiarity with water meter systems.
Effective problem-solving capabilities.
Basic carpentry skills.
Understanding of plumbing systems.
Personal Attributes
- Exhibit a professional demeanor and appearance at all times.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
Adaptability to shifting schedules.
- Capability to work independently.
Accurate completion of work orders is essential.
Work Environment
Conditions
- Must be willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including adverse climates.
- Comfortable entering client residences while adhering to safety protocols.
Uniforms provided by the employer must be worn during work hours.
Willingness to work in confined spaces after receiving appropriate training.
Some tasks may require working at heights exceeding 20 feet.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Possession of a reliable and insured vehicle is necessary.
A Water Meter Installer license is preferred, but training is available for the right candidate.
Experience in soldering and plumbing is a plus.
Ability to work with minimal oversight is essential.
Excellent communication skills with customers are a must.
Compensation Details
This position is contract-based, and candidates should possess their own HST number.
Health and Safety Policy
All candidates must be fully vaccinated due to the nature of the work, which involves interacting with clients in their homes. Compliance with PPE requirements, regular sanitization, social distancing, and adherence to all health guidelines is mandatory.
