Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shop Foreman to join our team at Velocity Truck Centres Canada. As a Shop Foreman, you will be responsible for supervising and monitoring technicians in the performance of their duties, dispatching technicians to jobs based on skill levels and training certifications, and directing the smooth operation and control of the shop workflow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Monitor Technicians: Directly supervise and monitor technicians in the performance of all their duties, ensuring that work is completed to the highest standards.
  • Dispatch Technicians: Dispatch technicians to jobs based on skill levels and training certifications, ensuring that the right technician is assigned to the right job.
  • Shop Workflow Management: Direct the smooth operation and control of the shop workflow, ensuring that work is completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Repair Order Process: Assist in the repair order process, ensuring that all necessary steps are taken to complete repairs efficiently and effectively.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Communicate with Service Advisors to ensure customer satisfaction, responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform quality assurance activities, including quality assurance inspections, checks of job progress and quality, and training technicians in quality assurance.
  • Tool and Equipment Management: Supervise the maintenance and use of tools and shop equipment, ensuring that they are used safely and effectively.
Requirements
  • Commercial Transport Journeyman Certificate: Hold a Commercial Transport (Truck and Transport Mechanic) Journeyman Certificate (or Red Seal).
  • Heavy Truck and Trailer Expertise: Have expertise in heavy truck and trailer maintenance and repair.
  • Self-Starter: Be a self-starter, able to work in a fast-paced, detailed, and process-driven environment.
  • Physical Ability: Be able to work in a physical capacity, including heavy lifting and using tools throughout the shift.
  • Class 5 Driver's License: Hold a Class 5 driver's license.
  • Daimler Certification: Hold Daimler Certification (considered an asset).
