Barda Equipment is seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Duty Equipment Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of heavy-duty equipment used in various industries.

Responsibilities:
  • Instruct apprentices on proper equipment maintenance and repair techniques.
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repairs required.
  • Order parts and maintain an accurate inventory of equipment components.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace defective parts on heavy-duty equipment.
  • Keep detailed maintenance records and documentation for all repairs performed.
  • Test repaired equipment to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Attach components and adjust new farm equipment according to industry standards.
  • Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and other preventative maintenance tasks on equipment.
  • Service attachments and working tools used in conjunction with heavy-duty equipment.
  • Verify and repair emission control systems to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Registered Apprenticeship certificate or equivalent experience in heavy-duty equipment repair.
  • Agricultural Equipment Technician Red Seal Certificate is preferred.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Completion of Level Two, Three, Four, and Five apprenticeship training programs.
  • Specialized knowledge and skills in diesel engine repair, including fuel injection systems, exhaust systems, cooling systems, air conditioning systems, lubrication systems, and engine control systems.
  • Experience with major internal engine repairs or overhauls, as well as the installation and alignment of engines and machinery.
  • Proficiency in mechanical maintenance and repair, including mechanical transmissions, drive trains, hydraulic transmissions, power take-offs, tracked vehicle suspensions and steering, wheel-mounted vehicle suspension and steering, highway vehicle tires and wheels, off-road vehicle tires and wheels, differentials, and brake systems.
Physical Requirements:

This position requires physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks such as bending, crouching, kneeling, handling heavy loads, and standing for extended periods. Attention to detail and sound discrimination are essential skills for this role.
