About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Commercial Solutions Specialist to join our growing Commercial Group Solutions team at Intact Financial Corporation.

This is a hybrid role that can be based out of our Toronto or Ottawa office, offering a balance between working from home and in-person interactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the strategic product development plan to achieve growth targets and drive business success.
  • Develop and manage guidelines, authority statements, and referral processes to support performance and underwriting excellence.
  • Gather market intelligence by working directly with distribution, brokers, and customers to compare Intact's product offering to the competition.
  • Research and identify technology-based solutions for pricing, underwriting, risk assessment, and loss mitigation opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to explore new growth and profitability opportunities through technical research and relationship building.
  • Assist in portfolio management through governance best practices, profitability, and growth analysis.
  • Perform technical underwriting audits and communicate changes related to underwriting guidelines and new products.
  • Provide underwriting training and lending expertise to colleagues and distribution underwriters.
  • Be accountable for assigned accounts and maintain healthy relationships within and outside the company.
Requirements
  • University degree or college diploma, or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in commercial insurance or a related field.
  • Highly organized with the ability to work towards goals while adapting to change in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to persuade and challenge others.
  • Effective analytical, negotiating, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work well under tight deadlines and manage time effectively.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
  • Digital and data acumen, understanding how these two items can support and facilitate the customer and underwriters' experience.
  • CIP designation is a must, and FCIP and/or CRM designation is an asset.
  • Willingness to travel on occasion.
