About the Role

The Robotics Technician is responsible for modifying existing automation control systems and designing, estimating, and commissioning new ones integrated with Robots based on PLC's. They implement Safety Category 4 for installations, presses, and robotics work cells and integrate equipment with robots and testing instruments. The engineer troubleshoots process problems, participates in Continuous Improvement initiatives, and maintains automated work cells, mechanical, and hydraulic presses.

Your Responsibilities
  1. Design, estimate, and commission new automation control systems integrated with Robots based on PLC's
  2. Implement Safety Category 4 for all required installations, presses, and robotics work cells
  3. Troubleshoot process problems and participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives
  4. Maintain and service automated work cells, mechanical, and hydraulic presses
  5. Set up and conduct predictive and preventative maintenance programs for required equipment
  6. Ensure compliance with customer requirements and quality, health and safety, and environmental standards
Requirements
  • Degree/diploma in Electrical Engineering, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering
  • Certified Electrician, an asset
  • Minimum 3 Years of experience in Electrical / Controls Design and Programmable Logic Controllers / Human Machine Interface Programming (PLC / HMI) / Vision Systems / Robot programming and troubleshooting
  • Strong MS Office skills
