Position Overview
The City of Ottawa is seeking a dedicated professional to join the Transit Customer Systems and Planning Service. This role is pivotal in enhancing customer service and operational efficiency for transit services, which cater to millions of riders annually.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive analysis of operational application suites in various domains including:
- Fleet Management Information Systems
- Fleet Diagnostic Tools
- Scheduling and Timekeeping Systems
- Control Systems (Computer Aided Dispatch / AVLC)
- Fare Collection Systems
- Customer Information Systems
- Provide ongoing support, training, and expertise to departmental staff regarding application usage and issue resolution.
- Analyze business needs and recommend enhancements to existing functionalities.
- Act as a functional expert and maintain the integrity of the application suite.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to ensure effective application configuration and support.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess a minimum of a three-year university degree in computer science, business administration, or a related field, along with at least five years of experience in business analysis or information systems support.
Knowledge and Skills
- Proficient in business analysis methodologies, report writing, and business intelligence tools.
- Familiarity with transit systems and vendor management.
- Understanding of project management principles and information systems development.
- Strong technical skills in client/server technologies and security administration.
- Competence in using various software applications for data analysis and reporting.
