Head of Facilities and Performance Management

Position Overview:

The Head of Facilities and Performance Management is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and operational excellence of the Faculty's facilities, including theatres and performance venues. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer and the Associate Dean of Performance and Public Events, this role is pivotal in ensuring that all operational best practices are adhered to, thereby enhancing the overall experience for faculty, staff, students, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of business strategies related to facilities management.
  • Ensure effective service delivery for all performance spaces, focusing on production elements such as lighting, sound, and set design.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Dean to manage the logistics of the events season, ensuring a seamless patron experience.
  • Drive revenue generation through the rental of performance facilities, establishing partnerships within the academic community and beyond.
  • Manage the physical facilities, developing both short-term and long-term plans for maintenance, security, and renovations.
  • Oversee health and safety compliance, ensuring adherence to relevant laws and university policies.
  • Foster a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement within the facilities team.

Qualifications:

Education: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as Theatre Production or Arts Administration, complemented by Facility Management experience. Project management certification is advantageous.

Experience: A minimum of five years of comprehensive management experience in theatre operations, including staff supervision in a unionized setting. Proven track record in facilities operations management is essential.

Skills: Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to collaborate across various levels of staff and volunteers, with a focus on innovative problem-solving.

Additional Requirements: A commitment to the principles of diversity and equity, along with a valid driver's license and current CPR and First Aid certification. Flexibility in work schedules is necessary to accommodate various events.
