Job Summary:

The Recreation Programmer is a key member of our team at Retirement Concepts, responsible for implementing and evaluating activity programs that meet the diverse needs and interests of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement recreation programs that promote socialization, physical activity, and cognitive stimulation for residents.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive environment for residents, family, and staff by adhering to safety protocols, emergency procedures, and infection control measures.
  • Document program activities, resident interactions, and staff training in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in staff orientation, community programs, meetings, and educational in-services to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Assist with resident orientation and encourage participation in community activities.
  • Collaborate with the Therapeutic Recreation Manager/Recreation Manager to ensure program alignment with company goals and resident needs.

Requirements:

  • Graduate from a recognized Activity/Recreation Certificate program.
  • Previous experience in a senior-focused environment is an asset.
  • Dementia course is an asset.
  • Valid First Aid Level 1 Certificate.
  • Food Safe Level 1 Certificate is an asset.
  • Valid Class 4 (Unrestricted) BC Driver's License.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently and understand verbal and written instructions.
