Your Role
We are in search of a skilled Lead Technical Supervisor to guide a team of experienced professionals dedicated to user technology and related services. Reporting to the Senior Manager of the Center of Expertise, you will manage the daily operations of technology systems, oversee a growing team, and spearhead technical initiatives within the User Technology sector.
In collaboration with internal stakeholders and vendors, you will assess resource needs and strategize modifications to user equipment management and security solutions. Additionally, you will serve as an internal operations authority, offering training, support, and guidance in your areas of expertise.
This pivotal role demands robust leadership, established technical proficiency, and the capability to excel in a fast-paced environment. You will play a direct role in enhancing our technology solutions and contributing to the overall success of our team.
Your Responsibilities:
- Oversee the effective operation of deployment and update management systems utilizing the SCCM/Intune framework.
- Support the operations and maintenance of systems that facilitate deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, and upgrades of all user technology systems.
- Ensure the security and integrity of user equipment through effective operations and maintenance.
- Manage and prioritize various operational requests from different sectors under your purview.
- Plan and allocate resources for operations and projects as necessary, collaborating in the development and monitoring of project plans.
- Identify requirements related to various corporate initiatives and provide recommendations for technological enhancements.
- Oversee laboratory facilities to conduct proof of concept for various implementations of new technologies.
- Develop IT standards and contribute to the formulation of strategies for user technologies.
- Engage in the evolution of existing technologies and recommend solutions to enhance system reliability and capabilities.
- In partnership with colleagues from the Center of Expertise and the Senior Manager, refine departmental work processes and methods, ensuring their ongoing maintenance.
- Plan and coordinate staff training and development initiatives.
- Supervise and mentor departmental staff.
- Provide recommendations regarding hiring, performance evaluations, and training.
What You Bring:
- A university degree or college diploma in computer science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in a related domain.
- Strong technical knowledge of network services, PC and Mac operating systems, as well as mobile operating systems.
- Proficient understanding of enterprise-grade device management (SCCM, Intune).
- Strong command of scripting languages (Powershell, Google Apps script).
- Ability to articulate ideas in both business-friendly and user-friendly language.
- Familiarity with project management principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bilingualism: fluency in French and English is essential.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Aptitude for functioning effectively under high demand and limited resources.
- Capability to prioritize and execute tasks efficiently in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Willingness to travel within Canada.
