Overview: The University of Ottawa is seeking applications for a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair (CRC) dedicated to Supporting Indigenous Health and Well-being. The successful applicant will be appointed to a tenure-track position at the Associate or Full Professor level within a relevant School of the Faculty.
Candidate Profile: Ideal candidates are recognized Indigenous Scholars with a robust research agenda that emphasizes collaboration with Indigenous communities to enhance health and well-being. The research focus should align with themes of Health, Sports, and Reconciliation.
Responsibilities: The Chairholder will be responsible for fostering partnerships with Indigenous communities to advance health initiatives and well-being.
Institutional Context: Situated on the unceded territory of the Anishinaabe Algonquin people, the University of Ottawa stands as the first and largest bilingual university in North America. The selected candidate will join a vibrant community of researchers engaged with Indigenous populations within the Faculty and will have opportunities to collaborate across various faculties, research institutes, and centers.
Qualifications: Tier 1 Chairs are designated for exceptional researchers recognized as leaders in their respective fields. Candidates must possess a Ph.D., demonstrate significant research accomplishments, have a proven track record in teaching and mentorship, secure external research funding, and exhibit proficient communication skills in either English or French.

Internal candidates are not eligible for this position.
Essential Skills:
- Education: Ph.D. in a relevant discipline

Compensation: This position offers a regular tenure-track academic appointment within the Faculty of Science, with competitive salaries commensurate with experience.
