Job Title: Youth Program Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Youth Program Coordinator is a key member of our team, responsible for the development and delivery of youth engagement programming and services for new immigrant youth between the ages of 13 and 24.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Co-create and deliver program activities for groups of youth, including workshops and social events.
  • Develop materials and manuals for workshops on topics such as cross-cultural communication, leadership, health and wellbeing, and post-secondary opportunities.
  • Organize social and cross-cultural events and relevant field trips to promote youth engagement and community building.
  • Support settlement and integration needs of the age group, including providing information and referral services.
  • Develop program participant intake procedures and conduct intake interviews to ensure a smooth onboarding process.
  • Prepare program reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Participate in and contribute to community and government consultations related to the delivery and enhancement of youth services.
  • Attend program planning/review meetings, monthly team meetings, and special meetings as required to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Develop marketing materials and conduct promotional activities to recruit program participants and promote the organization's services.
  • Assist with the monitoring, development, and implementation of quality assurance measures to ensure the highest standards of service delivery.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Child and Youth Care, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field, with a minimum of one year of related experience in youth settlement work, project coordination, and administration.
  • Knowledge of immigrant and youth settlement issues, integration processes, and the impact of trauma on youth.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to speak one of the languages of the refugee client population.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to develop and deliver training programs and materials, and to make public presentations and group facilitation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team setting, with a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Sound knowledge of community resources and the ability to network and build partnerships to support the organization's mission.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines, with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality service delivery.
  • Strong computer and internet skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and other databases.
