Montreal, Quebec, Canada Dolphin Design SAS Full time

Are you excited about advancing the field of low power analog circuit design?

At Dolphin Design SAS, we are at the forefront of innovation in microelectronics. Our Montreal-based team is dedicated to transforming analog design, particularly in sub-threshold applications. We are looking for a layout engineer (W/M) who excels in designing voltage regulators and complex circuitry, and who aspires to elevate low power analog solutions to new heights.

As a vibrant player in the microelectronics industry, we are expanding our talented group of over 20 designers, with ambitious plans for growth in the coming years. We are also transitioning to a modern workspace that will enhance collaboration and creativity.

Our work encompasses a range of technologies including bulk-planar, FDSOI, and FinFET, targeting sectors such as IoT and automotive. Our mission is to optimize energy efficiency while maintaining rigorous safety standards.

Your Responsibilities as a Layout Engineer:

You will be an integral part of our Layout team, which consists of 6 skilled members, and your primary responsibilities will include:

  1. Creating intricate layouts for mixed-signal and analog circuits utilizing CMOS technologies. Collaborating with circuit designers to review and analyze floorplans and complex circuits.
  2. Executing a comprehensive suite of design verification tools for each block. Coordinating with the circuit design team to plan and schedule tasks, and negotiate necessary layout adjustments.
  3. Analyzing LVS, DRC, and ERC reports to efficiently complete layouts. Surpassing engineering specifications by working closely with the circuit design team.
  4. Employing advanced CAD tools to produce accurate and robust layouts that meet performance, area, and power specifications.

Your role will involve a diverse and stimulating mission that requires a comprehensive understanding of various schematic block designs. Should you need guidance in any aspect of the process, our team is committed to sharing their expertise and supporting your development.

Qualifications:

You should possess a master's degree in microelectronics and have a minimum of 5 years of experience in layout design.

Essential Skills:

  • Expertise in advanced CMOS processes, particularly Bulk, FDSOI, and FinFET.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools such as Virtuoso.
  • Experience with tight matching, low noise, and low power consumption designs.
  • Familiarity with layouts that include analog blocks, resistors, capacitors, pad IOs, and ESD structures.
  • Understanding of techniques for managing IR drop, RC delay, electromigration, and self-heating.
  • Ability to interpret CALIBRE DRC, ERC, LVS, and similar reports.
  • Experience in analog and mixed-signal development.
  • Programming skills in a Linux environment.
  • Proficiency in English.

You are a collaborative team player with strong communication and leadership abilities.

What We Offer:
  • As part of the Dolphin Design group, you will join a close-knit team in a vibrant city, with plans for a new, modern office space.
  • Flexible working arrangements, including hybrid models.
  • Opportunities for autonomy and creativity while working on innovative projects.
  • Competitive salary based on your experience.
  • Generous leave policy with over 5 weeks of paid time off.
  • Access to virtual healthcare and substantial contributions to health insurance benefits.
  • Utilization of cutting-edge design tools, with projects exclusive to our Canadian team.
