Business Development Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Banking Professional to join our team at BMO. As a key member of our Commercial Sales & Service team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and advisory support to our clients, helping them to achieve their business goals.
Key Responsibilities- Provide proactive credit analysis, structuring, and pricing expertise to clients, ensuring that their financial needs are met.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business needs and providing tailored solutions.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and integration of data, ensuring that our clients receive the best possible service.
- Identify and assess credit risks, making recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders to ensure that our clients' financial goals are achieved.
- Develop and implement business plans, including relationship management strategies, to achieve customer retention objectives.
- Provide exceptional customer service, building trust and credibility with clients through responsive service and support.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, identifying emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement operational programs, ensuring that our clients receive the best possible service.
- Typically between 4 - 6 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong knowledge of business banking products, lending processes, and loan documentation, as well as supporting policies, procedures, and technologies.
- Strong experience with customer sales and service, with a focus on building strong relationships with clients.
- Technical proficiency gained through education and/or business experience, with a focus on data-driven decision making.
- Verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Collaboration and team skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and assess credit risks and develop tailored solutions.
- Influence skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
