Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Education Assistant to join our team at Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Separate School Division. As an Education Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with various degrees of need in the learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assistance to students with special programming needs under the direction and supervision of the Inclusive Education Liaison, classroom teacher, and principal.
  • Engage students in all aspects of their educational program, requiring physical fitness and a collaborative team-based structure.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all aspects of the school community and understand the importance of this in achieving the common good for all students.
  • Carry out tasks as assigned by daily and program supervisors, including supporting individuals through valued attachments and working on academic goals with students who have multiple barriers.
  • Participate in new learning opportunities and take responsibility for individual student needs.
Requirements
  • Education Assistant Certificate and/or Diploma or Rehabilitation Practitioner Certificate and/or Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one-year experience working with students with special programming needs.
  • First Aid training, Supporting Individuals through Valued Attachments Training (SIVA) Certificate, and training and experience with augmentative communication systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to maintain confidentiality, and willingness to participate in new learning opportunities.
