CNC Machinist Position Overview

Qualifications
  • Completion of a trades certificate or diploma
  • Equivalent experience in the field
Key Responsibilities
  • Calculate dimensions and tolerances of machine components
  • Measure and prepare workpieces for assembly
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables
  • Repair and maintain machine tools and components
  • Set up and fine-tune production machinery and tools
  • Assemble and fit components to precise tolerances
  • Calibrate and maintain precision measuring instruments
  • Document and report any deviations from specifications
  • Keep inspection records and complete relevant reports
  • Verify machined parts using precise measuring tools
  • Operate both conventional and CNC machine tools
  • Ensure product dimensions meet accuracy and specifications
  • Set up machines for repetitive machining tasks
