Job Tasks

- Process monthly journal entries with a focus on accuracy and adherence to accounting standards, ensuring timely posting to the General Ledger.
- Prepare and analyze financial variance reports to understand changes and trends for the period, providing insights to management.
- Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations, ensuring all accounts are accurately reconciled and discrepancies are promptly addressed.
- Resolve any General Ledger queries in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring accurate financial records.
- Drive the month-end close process, ensuring all entries are accurately posted within the timeline. Collaborate with the team to meet deadlines and allow for adequate review time.
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
- Ensure all bank transactions are accurately recorded and posted by month-end, maintaining accurate and up-to-date reconciliations.
- Prepare and file HST/GST/QST monthly returns, ensuring timely payments and accurate reporting.
- Assist external auditors and internal teams with inquiries related to Income Tax, Sales Tax, and other tax matters.
- Develop, implement, and maintain SOX compliance processes and documentation, ensuring effective internal controls are in place.
- Work closely with the Finance Director to identify and address any gaps in financial controls or processes, proactively recommending improvements.
- Support the external and internal audit team during SOX testing and annual audits.

What you'll need:

- CPA Designation is required.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in General Ledger Accounting, preferably within a large, international organization, with prior experience in a Finance Manager role.
- Strong proficiency in Excel, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, and SUMIF functions.
- Highly organized, with excellent skills in prioritization and managing multiple tasks effectively.
- Proven ability to build strong working relationships and interact confidently with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, energetic, and detail-oriented, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Capable of working under pressure, meeting tight deadlines, and maintaining composure in a fast-paced environment.
- French language proficiency.
