Program Manager, Strategy Implementation
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Program Manager, Strategy Implementation will take a leadership role in the implementation and operations of the newly approved OMD Strategic Plan. The role will develop and implement plans within the established strategic parameters, create resource plans, set performance measurement frameworks, and oversee the operations of key new initiatives. The Program Manager will lead the preparation of compelling digital health proposals, business cases, implementation plans, and other supporting business development activities, while ensuring initial operations run smoothly. Demonstrated knowledge of OntarioMD’s business strategy, operations, key products and services, and experience in digital health IT service development and delivery are essential, as is the ability to convey and adapt key messages to diverse audiences.
Responsibilities
- Lead the production of delegated strategy implementation and business development artefacts that advance OntarioMD’s corporate strategy, including business proposals, presentations, and responses to RFPs, RFSs, etc.
- Provide operational leadership and oversight for new activities, guiding their development toward mature programs.
- Translate and incorporate clients’ business needs into clear, succinct key messages and deliverables.
- Prepare resource allocations, timelines, costing, risks, and assumptions for delegated activities.
- Lead the initial implementation of successful proposals or other business development activities in alignment with approved objectives, scope, and deliverables.
- Assist with the creation of charters, resource procurement, or staff augmentation.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of OntarioMD Corporate Strategy, products and services, customer needs, and the stakeholder landscape.
- Lead workshops necessary to advance business development initiatives.
- Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including management and executive.
- Supervise contracted resources, ensuring deliverables align with budgets.
- Communicate strategic activities to staff to promote awareness and connection to emerging strategies.
- Produce and/or prepare communications that promote OntarioMD products and services and business development activities.
- Manage any initial project budgets.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the Ontario Digital Health landscape.
- At least 3 years of prior experience with OntarioMD products and services.
- Prior experience working with Ministry of Health, Ontario Health, Ontario Medical Association, and/or other care delivery or regulatory health service organizations. Multi‑jurisdictional experience is a definite asset.
- Experience preparing or contributing to successful digital health proposals, statements of work, and other key business development artefacts.
- Creative writing techniques for a wide variety of documents for differing audiences.
- Effective oral and written communication skills oriented to various audiences, including management and executive.
- Political acuity within the digital health and healthcare system landscape, including negotiation, mediation, and relationship‑management skills for stakeholder consultations.
- Confidence in working closely with executive‑level staff and the ability to work independently.
- Experience developing clear, crisp, visually appealing documents.
- Ability to work proactively under the time pressures of a competitive bid process.
