Position

Accounting Analyst

The Accounting Analyst is responsible for supporting financial reporting, budgeting and analytical activities to ensure accuracy, transparency, and compliance with accounting principles. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem‑solver who enjoys working with data and collaborating across departments to drive financial insight and efficiency.

How you will contribute

- Prepare intercompany charge‑back invoices for major projects.
- Reconcile intercompany accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Prepare annual all‑inclusive project charge‑out rate evaluations and advise on potential adjustments.
- Perform monthly financial analyses and reporting as assigned.
- Support the Director of Finance in the monthly forecasting process.
- Assist the Accounting Manager in preparing the annual budget.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather and validate financial information.
- Develop and maintain financial models, dashboards and performance metrics.
- Participate in year‑end close through reconciliations, working papers and liaison with auditors.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards and organizational policies.
- Provide backup support to other Finance team members as needed.

Education and Experience

- University or College degree in accounting or business administration.
- CPA designation or close to completion.
- Minimum five years of general accounting experience, including at least two years in an analytical role.
- Experience in the construction industry is an asset.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and financial systems.
- Good knowledge of dashboarding and financial models.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and set priorities effectively.
- Knowledge of ViewPoint or another construction ERP software is a definite asset.
- Strong knowledge of ASPE.
