What you will be doing:
Our client is a leading software engineering firm specializing in digital transformation, innovative solutions, and emerging technologies. Building the products and platforms of the future with software development and integration expertise across core industries such as Retail, Consumer Packaged Goods & Supply Chain, Energy & Natural Resources, and Financial Services/Fintech, they drive impactful results for clients by blending engineering excellence, cloud native applications and business strategy. They are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our GTA office. This individual will play a pivotal role in growing the client base and revenue streams by leading and mentoring a team of Business Development Representatives (BDRs). The BDR Manager will align with industry leaders to strategize and execute targeted campaigns and outreach initiatives to engage ideal customer profiles and core markets.
What you will be doing:
BDR Team Leadership
- You will be the first through the door in this newly created role. Not only will you be an individual contributor to start, in the coming months you will be asked to recruit, train, and manage a team of 2-3 BDRs.
- Set clear performance goals and provide regular coaching to drive team success.
- Goals will be based on activity meetings and pipeline.
- Develop a collaborative and high-performance sales culture.
Sales Strategy & Execution
- Collaborate with industry leaders to create effective go-to-market strategies and campaigns.
- Develop outreach plans tailored to each core industry's ideal customer profile.
- Ensure robust target lists and CRM hygiene.
- Act as a liaison between BDRs and industry leaders, ensuring alignment on priorities and goals.
Market Research & Opportunity Identification
- Analyze market trends and customer needs to identify new business opportunities.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the service offerings and industry positioning.
Relationship Building
- Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective clients to understand their business challenges and objectives.
- Serve as an advocate and evangelist for our solutions in core industries.
Reporting & Performance Metrics
- Track and report on team performance, pipeline growth, and key sales metrics.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
What you must have:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or related roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership position.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales or activity targets.
- Strong understanding of B2B sales cycles, account-based marketing, and lead generation strategies.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience working with CRM tools such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Amplemarket, Zoominfo, LinkedIn or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with our core industries (Retail, Energy, Financial Services, Healthtech, etc.) is an asset.
Salary/Rate Range: $100,000 – $140,000
