BBA’s Vancouver office is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineering Lead to contribute to the various stages of major electrical engineering projects in the industrial and renewables space. There will be opportunities to participate in projects from the earliest stages of business development to onsite equipment commissioning.

The Senior Electrical Engineering Lead will need to use their leadership skills every day, whether it’s to develop trusting relationships with our partners in the region, mentor the next generation, or manage the project work.

- Work collaboratively with clients, project managers, engineers, designers and drafters in the preparation of deliverables to BBA and client standards

- Establish client needs, prepare or review project deliverables, reports, estimates, specifications, quotations and proposals

- Lead, supervise, train, and mentor junior engineers during the project execution.

- Create project scope of services, budgets and schedules

- Plan and monitor work assignments and costs

Overview of certifications and job requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university

- P.Eng. or eligible to register with EGBC as a P.Eng

- Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience with power distribution systems in the mining, industrial, or municipality sectors

- Experience preparing and reviewing technical documents such as reports, specifications, design drawings, studies, plans, and instructions

- Practical knowledge of MV & LV distribution in industrial plants, including single line diagrams, site layouts, panel layouts, schematics, grounding, and lighting

- Practical knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC)

- Experience preparing HV/MV/LV electrical equipment specifications

- Experience preparing and reviewing project estimates

- Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills

- A valid driver’s license

- Able to travel to customer sites and other BBA offices within Canada, the USA, and international destinations for project short-term assignments, such as site meetings, field reviews, site assessments, tests, etc

- Annual base salary between – $144,000 to $176,000
