Senior Electrical Engineering Lead Industrial and Renewables
BBA’s Vancouver office is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineering Lead to contribute to various stages of major electrical engineering projects in the industrial and renewables sectors. Opportunities include involvement from early business development to onsite equipment commissioning.
The Senior Electrical Engineering Lead will utilize leadership skills daily to foster trusting relationships with regional partners, mentor junior staff, and manage project work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with clients, project managers, engineers, designers, and drafters to prepare deliverables to BBA and client standards
- Identify client needs and prepare or review project reports, estimates, specifications, quotations, and proposals
- Lead, supervise, train, and mentor junior engineers during project execution
- Create project scope, budgets, and schedules
- Plan and monitor work assignments and costs
- Maintain communication with clients regarding active and future projects
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university
- P.Eng. or eligibility to register with EGBC as a P.Eng
- Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in power distribution systems within mining, industrial, or municipal sectors
- Experience in preparing and reviewing technical documents such as reports, specifications, design drawings, and studies
- Practical knowledge of MV & LV distribution in industrial plants, including single line diagrams, site layouts, and schematics
- Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC)
- Experience in preparing HV/MV/LV electrical equipment specifications
- Experience in preparing and reviewing project estimates
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
- A valid driver’s license and ability to travel within Canada, the USA, and internationally for short-term project assignments
Benefits and Compensation:
- Annual base salary between $144,000 and $176,000
