Business Clerk

The Business Clerk reports to the Clinical Manager and works as an integral member of the interdisciplinary team within the program. This position is primarily based on the C4 Unit and is responsible for providing clerical, administrative, and business support to patients, families, and healthcare providers. Key responsibilities include purchasing medical supplies, staffing and scheduling support, and other duties as assigned. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, well-organized, and self-directed, with the ability to adapt to dynamic staffing needs and evolving priorities.Qualifications. Grade 12 or equivalent2. Graduate of community college secretarial or office administration program or equivalent office experience3. Medical Terminology Certificate 1 and 2 or demonstrated knowledge equivalent to the Medical Terminology Certificate 1and 2 acquired in a different Business Clerk position, which may be subject to testing4. Preferred recent experience transcribing and processing physicians’ orders in an impatient setting.5. Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office, MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook/MS Exchange, PeopleSoft Time and Labour DataEntry, Meditech, Sovera6. Keyboarding 40 wpm, which may be subject to testing7. Demonstrated mathematical skills related to payroll and budget documents8. Demonstrated ability to work on own initiative, organize, establish, prioritize and meet deadlines9. Ability to work in a high-paced environment10. Excellent interpersonal skills, effective verbal and written communication, and ability to work within a team11. Ability to appreciate the confidential nature of this position12. Ability to deal with various hospital departments effectively and collaboratively13. Ability to sit for long periods of time, repetitive reaching, repetitive bending
