CATHARINES HOURS OF WORK: 0.5 FTE; MONDAY TO FRIDAY; ONCALL; STAT HOLIDAYS; WEEKENDS POSTING DATE: 19 January 2026 CLOSING DATE: 02 February 2026 UNION: ONTARIO PUBLIC SERVICE EMPLOYEE'S UNION WAGE RANGE: $36.84 TO $51.77 PER HOUR POSITION OBJECTIVE Working to promote Imaging excellence, quality patient/client-centred care and high professional standards, the Ultrasound Technologist / Registered Sonographer will be responsible for the patient assessment, exam completion, documentation and evaluation of images. The objective of the Ultrasound Technologist / Registered Sonographer is to provide safe and competent exams through the application of imaging knowledge, the technical aspects of professional practice and the demonstration of compassion, professionalism and respect. The successful candidate's home site will be Marotta Family Hospital, St. Catharines and must be willing to work at two or more sites. QUALIFICATIONS - Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Training Program - Registered and in good standing with College of Medical Radiation & Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) - Two years Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound experience in the past five years in a similar hospital setting - Advanced knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and pathology - Demonstrated knowledge and skill in vascular (carotid and venous), small parts, neuro and assisting in interventional procedures - Demonstrated knowledge and skill in the production and assessment of diagnostic ultrasound images - Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and professional development - Applies knowledge, skills, judgment and competencies required for safe, independent and inter-disciplinary practice by meeting accepted standards - Applies Niagara Health values and professional practice standards to patient/client care and service - Integrates reflection, critical thinking, education and relevant practical experience in problem solving - Working knowledge of Hospital and Diagnostic Imaging Information and Imaging Systems and other related computer systems - Must be available for all shifts, vacation replacement, sick, paid holidays and call backs - Consistent and regular attendance required - Proficiency in both official languages (English & French) will be considered an asset Questions, quoting the job posting number may be directed to hrrecruit@niagarahealth.on.ca This position is an existing vacancy at Niagara Health.
