Why This Role Will Matter

The Production Manager for Raw Material Handling will be a key driver of operational excellence in the earliest and most critical stage of our production process. This role ensures world-class standards in safety, quality, and efficiency while leading a skilled team of operators and process engineers. Beyond daily operations, you will play a strategic role in commissioning and ramp-up activities, optimizing material flow, and implementing continuous improvements that reduce waste and enhance productivity—all aligned with Vianode’s commitment to innovation and sustainability.

What You’ll Be Driving

Key responsibilities include:

- Material Management: Oversee raw material unloading, storage, and inventory control to ensure seamless production flow.
- Safety Leadership: Enforce strict safety standards for handling hazardous materials, fostering a strong safety culture.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain rigorous quality checks and documentation for incoming materials, including PPAP compliance.
- Team Leadership: Lead and develop operators and process engineers, ensuring effective execution of raw material handling processes.
- Process Optimization: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance material flow and minimize waste.
- Commissioning Support: Actively participate in commissioning and ramp-up activities for raw material systems.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with logistics and procurement teams to ensure material availability and timely delivery.

What You’ll Need to Stand-out

Core qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in production management within industrial or chemical processing environments.
- Strong technical knowledge of synthetic graphite manufacturing processes and thermal treatment technologies.
- Proven track record in plant commissioning and ramp-up activities.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.

Key Competencies:

- Technical expertise in graphite or carbon-based material processing.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, particularly under pressure.
- Excellent organizational and planning abilities.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across cultures and geographies.

Where work will be: Onsite, South West Ontario (specific location TBC)
