A career as a Senior Director in the Prudential Standards and Oversight Office (PSO) at National Bank, means leading a team responsible for structuring our regulatory approach, simplifying communications with OSFI, and ensuring proactive monitoring of emerging risks.
Your role
- Effectively coordinate regulatory meetings, reviews, information requests and submission of reports. Ensure that all documentation is comprehensive, timely, and accurate.
- Translate regulatory guidelines into binding internal standards and deployment tools.
- Challenge and oversee implementation of regulatory action plans; and contribute to the monitoring and reporting of key performance indicators.
- Maintain a centralized inventory of applicable regulations and collaborate with senior staff to conduct regulatory self-assessments, rigorously challenging for accuracy, clarity, and precision, and testing that verifies control effectiveness.
- Organize and facilitate key committees, ensuring seamless coordination from start to finish.
- Conduct thorough research into regulatory requirements, advising on policy development to meet or exceed industry standards and evaluate emerging themes with a focus on Canadian prudential regulations.
- Lead the regular review and update of policies, standards, and procedures to ensure they remain up-to-date, compliant with regulations, and reflective of best practices.
Your team
You will report to the interim lead of the PSO. Together, we aim to advance governance practices that safeguard the Bank's integrity and compliance with regulatory expectations.

In a constantly evolving regulatory environment, we seek to strengthen our ability to anticipate, interpret, and integrate the standards issued by the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI).

Prerequisites
- Solid background in risk management, or governance, with a deep understanding of the regulatory landscape (OSFI, Basel, etc.).
- Exceptional organizational, time management, and project management skills. Ability to lead, innovate, and influence, guiding teams towards achieving compliance excellence.
- Outstanding ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across all levels of management.
- Strong analytical capabilities, with a detail‑oriented approach and the capacity to develop solutions for complex issues.
- Agile and proactive, with the ability to quickly assimilate new information and adapt strategies in a rapidly evolving regulatory and business environment.
Languages
Reason to require this language: you will need to collaborate with a regulator/authority/government body outside Quebec.
