About AO

Algonquin Outfitters (since 1961) is Canada’s original outdoor adventure retailer serving Algonquin Park, Haliburton Highlands, and Muskoka. Our mission: help people enjoy the outdoors with great gear, expert advice, and genuine enthusiasm.

The role

Reporting to the CMO, you’ll ensure our online shopping experience matches what guests expect in our stores. You’ll own day‑to‑day site operations, content and merchandising, analytics, and order flow—keeping the store visually appealing, easy to navigate, accurate, and aligned to our campaigns.

What you’ll do

- Marketing & merchandising: Keep content fresh and on-brand; merchandise categories; publish/remove products; maintain accurate pricing, specs, and inventory.

- Site quality: Regularly QA product pages, search, cart, checkout, and integrations; coordinate fixes with internal/external partners.

- Security & payments: Liaise with payment providers; help ensure secure, reliable transactions and protection of customer data.

- Fulfillment & service: Work closely with in‑store staff to keep orders moving smoothly (and jump in to help); respond to customer inquiries to deliver great post‑purchase experiences.

- Continuous improvement: Propose policy/process updates across e‑com operations and fulfillment when needed.

How you’ll work

- Thrive in a fast‑paced environment; prioritize well when things change quickly.

- Collaborate across marketing, store teams, and operations; influence without drama.

- Think creatively, spot opportunities, and turn data into clear next steps.

What you bring

- Passion for the outdoors and outdoor gear

- Experience in e‑commerce operations or merchandising (retail preferred)

- Comfortable with Shopify, Lightspeed, or Woo Commerce (or similar), POS integrations, and basic CMS/HTML

- Strong Excel/spreadsheet skills; confident using data to guide decisions

- Detail‑oriented communicator with solid organization and follow‑through

- Nice to have: Photoshop/graphic basics; shipping/3PL knowledge

- Roll‑up-your‑sleeves mindset—okay with data entry and moving product

- Flexibility to adjust your schedule during seasonal peaks

Why you’ll love it

- Meaningful work helping people get outside

- Collaborative, hands‑on culture with room to grow

- Staff perks on gear and adventures

How to apply

Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter telling us why you’re a great fit for AO.
