Position Title: Training Consultant
Target Start Date: April 1st, 2025
Duration: Ending Oct. 31st, 2025
Remote/Hybrid: Hybrid - may change however 1-2 days per week. Currently every Tuesday and 1st Friday of each month.
Office Location: 81 Bay
Work Schedule: 37.5 Hours/week, 8:30-5 Monday to Friday with 1 hour unpaid break per day. Slight flexibility, however must be available when SME's require calls during regular business hours.
Potential for OT: No
Interview Process: 2 rounds of interviews perhaps a 3rd. Focus will be on cultural fit and background.
Job Description:
The Consultant, Employee Experience, will be responsible for building, managing, and implementing key aspects of the Commercial Banking employee experience, with a focus on training and employee development and engagement programs.
The Consultant will support the design and development of a variety of training and performance solutions and manage development activities for related projects that are aligned with Commercial Banking strategies aimed at enhancing the capabilities of employees supporting a client-centric environment.
The role will be responsible for developing solutions based on training objectives, job-specific procedures/activities, and measures of success. To function effectively, the Consultant must have excellent technical, communication, and writing skills, the ability to manage multiple competing deliverables, and experience developing content for adult learners in various formats, including e-learning, self-guided, and instructor-led. The Consultant will work closely with other members of the CEX team, subject matter experts, and business partners. The candidate will also harness technology, implement guidelines, and processes, which will drive the quality of our design, development, and technology deliverables.
How You'll Succeed:
1. Develop and/or refresh a range of training solutions using a variety of methodologies and media to suit multiple learning styles and achieve training objectives.
2. Use a variety of development tools and templates to design effective layouts, construct creative training activities, and build prototypes for e-learning, instructor-led, and self-directed training.
3. Work with CEX team and Subject Matter Experts to achieve a comprehensive understanding of the perceived training needs or gaps.
4. Assist the CEX teams in the preparation of needs assessments, e.g., by writing surveys/questionnaires, gathering data, summarizing data, identifying performance gaps, etc.
5. Determine the development requirements based on the analysis and assessment of the client and audience needs.
6. Contribute to recommendations for appropriate training or performance support vehicles.
7. Coordinate content collaborating with the CEX team to determine and implement required changes.
8. Coordinate translation activities, including reviews.
9. Collaborate with the CEX team to renew existing programs which require redesign.
10. Ensure continuous adherence to quality assurance and version control processes.
11. Contribute to the maintenance, continuous improvement, and refinement of the processes, methodology, and standards for content development.
12. Deliver high-quality training solutions within agreed-upon parameters.
13. Manage work effort to meet project deadlines for multiple competing deliverables.
14. Collaborate with the CEX team, subject matter experts, and other team members to prepare for effective implementation of training programs.
15. Participate in monitoring initial delivery of e-learning and self-guided solutions to ensure their effectiveness.
16. Collaborate with the team on the development of measurement tools for new initiatives.
17. Monitor the results of training programs and implement updates to improve upon content and layout.
18. Project manage and gather and share relevant information with the CEX team, leaders, and subject matter experts.
19. Liaise with vendors on course content, materials, etc., as required for specific projects.
20. Update project plans and/or CEX team with the status of all deliverables.
21. Proactively identify and escalate issues that may impact project milestones or deliverables, and recommend a solution, where appropriate.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Developing high quality, easy to consume, innovative learning and performance support solutions using various technologies.
2. Works closely with the CEX team and subject matter experts to develop training solutions.
3. Identifies relevant interactive design alternatives that will most effectively accomplish the performance objectives and learning outcomes.
4. Identifies opportunities to continuously improve efficiency and effectiveness of the learning and performance solutions.
5. Building and maintaining customer relationships at all levels.
6. Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.
Must Have Requirement:
1. Portfolio or sample of work done included.
2. 2+ years' comprehensive experience with e-learning authoring tools and training simulation software.
3. Extensive experience using Microsoft Office software products -- especially Power Point.
4. 2+ years' experience developing successful e-learning, instructor-led, and self-guided training materials.
Nice to Have:
1. Recent experience with a combination of adult learning instructional design and eLearning development an asset.
2. Recent experience working with subject matter experts to convert existing curriculum content to an eLearning format an asset.
3. Experience with Commercial Banking an asset.
4. Bilingual is an asset.
5. Learning facilitation experience is an asset.
Soft Skills:
1. Demonstrated project management skills.
2. Comprehensive writing skills and experience with a variety of writing styles.
3. High degree of initiative, self-organization, and self-management skills needed, in order to work with minimal direction – ability to work independently and be flexible.
4. High standards of accuracy and attention to detail.
