This family run business operates as a specialist supplier within the building materials sector, providing a wide range of products to both trade and domestic customers. With a long-standing presence in the market, it has built a reputation for dependable service, knowledgeable staff, and consistent support across its regional network.
Your new role
This organisation is looking for a hands-on Management Accountant to support month‑end, reporting, and financial control. Working closely with the Finance Director and wider finance team, you’ll take ownership of key accounting processes and help strengthen the finance function.
Key Responsibilities

- Produce monthly management accounts, journals, and commentary
- Complete balance sheet, bank, VAT, and stock reconciliations
- Maintain the fixed asset register and stock nominals
- Manage daily cash sales reconciliations across multiple branches
- Support audits, statutory accounts, and month‑end close
- Prepare VAT returns and manage import declarations
- Provide financial insight and support to senior leadership
- Identify opportunities to improve processes
- Ad-hoc support when needed for the finance team and wider business

What you'll need to succeed

- Part-qualified or qualified by experience
- Strong experience in management accounts and reconciliations
- Confident with Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs) and spreadsheets
- Experience with finance systems
- Organised, analytical, and comfortable taking ownership
- Hands-on approach with the mentality that no task is too small
