Accountable to: Information Technology (IT) Manager

Listuguj Mi’gmaq Government (LMG) serves as the governing body of the sovereign Mi’gmaq community of Listuguj. As the organization continues to grow and evolve, it faces exciting new opportunities across its many directorates, departments and initiatives. The LMG IT Department is responsible for delivering secure, reliable, and innovative technology solutions that support LMG’s operations and community services. Our team ensures that systems, networks, and digital platforms are optimized to meet organizational needs, safeguard data, and enable efficient communication and collaboration across all departments.

Summary of Function:

The Information Technology (IT) Operation and Support Coordinator play a pivotal role in supporting the IT department by providing a wide range of administrative, technical, and training assistance. This multifaceted role is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the IT department while also contributing to the professional development of IT staff and end-users. This role ensures LMG’s IT systems and users are prepared for evolving tech and cybersecurity needs.

Job Duties:

- Manages procurement and inventory of IT supplies and equipment.

- Deploy and manage an IT asset management solution for all IT Equipment in LMG Environment.

- Serve as the primary triage point for IT inquiries (e.g., Helpdesk, Phone call) ensuring timely and accurate resolution or escalation.

- Deliver Level 1 technical support, escalating complex issues to appropriate personnel.

- Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT systems and equipment.

- Standardize troubleshooting procedures and maintain a dynamic knowledge base.

- Help prepare training programs on new technologies, cybersecurity threats, and digital tools.

- Develop self‑service resources (guides, videos, FAQs) to empower users and reduce support requests.

- Manage the Cybersecurity awareness platform for the Listuguj Mi’gmaq Government (CIRA Platform).

- Collaborate on IT projects ensuring smooth rollouts, user adoption, and minimal disruption.

- Support change management initiatives, including employee communication and training.

- Collaborate in establishing robust IT security policies and operational procedures.

- Support the LMG IT Department in attaining compliance with recognized cybersecurity audit standards.

- Oversee the development and upkeep of documentation for IT systems, security frameworks, and incident response strategies.

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 is required.

- A degree in a related field (Information Technology, Computer Science, or a relevant technical discipline) or equivalent work experience is preferred.

- Experience with hardware (computers, printers, phones, etc.).

- Experience with software (Microsoft Office, etc.).
