Marketing Specialist

Full Time, Permanent

Scarborough ON

Purpose

The Marketing Specialist is responsible for supporting the Marketing Team in delivering projects and initiatives to support our brand building and sales support efforts. She/he will work closely with the marketing coordinator to support marketing plan execution.

Responsibilities:

1. Assists the Marketing Manager with asset development for digital marketing plans and calendars.
2. Support marketing team with website updating and optimizing landing and product pages.
3. Coordinate in-house social media photoshoots at the manufacturing facility and plan social shoots at events, corporate initiatives, etc. Create shot lists for social content.
4. Strategically develop and deploy content for social media channels aligned to the marketing plan.
5. Work with the product development team to translate technical formulations into marketable, trend-forward concepts.
6. Effectively manage external agencies to ensure deliverables meet marketing plan expectations.
7. Oversee marketing budget and track POs.
8. Manage the planning and execution of large-scale corporate and PR events such as trade shows.
9. Develop and execute omni-channel campaigns to support product launches and sampling kits.
10. See to internal creative service requests on an ad hoc basis.
11. Assist in preparing materials for client-facing meetings (e.g., presentations, sampling kits, postcards, etc.).
12. Oversee overall functionality of the website to ensure that it is working well for users.
13. Skillfully design traffic-driving and visually appealing collateral for various marketing initiatives including events, social media, and external communications to maintain a premium brand image.
14. Track and report on competitor activity and industry trends to support product development and sales teams in driving leads and relevant product innovation.
15. Participate in panel testing and provide industry knowledge to support Product Development Specialists in planning product launches.
16. Social media content creation, shooting/editing content for social channels including lab behind-the-scenes of production, innovation lab, human resources events, product development, team building events and more.
17. Assist with campaign photoshoots from concept to execution, including mood boards, call sheets, ideation, and logistics of the shoot from model contracts to scheduling. Shoot/edit behind-the-scenes social content at photoshoots.
18. Design product labels, packaging and materials to specifications using Adobe Suite.
19. Design materials for events, product launches and other marketing channels from signage, decals, printed labels, tradeshow materials, digital newsletters, social media graphics, website images and more.
20. Photoshop or edit and perform post-production of images from agencies or in-house images.
21. Video editing for product launch campaign videos or social media.
22. Proofread with high attention to detail all promotional materials at each creative stage to ensure the final product meets the necessary requirements.
23. Support in-house printing of promotional materials by finalizing artwork, testing label sizes, and assisting with internal execution. Assist with product branding and component labeling.

Skills, Experience and Education:

1. Post-secondary education in Marketing, Business Administration, Cosmetics.
2. Relevant work experience in the cosmetic industry is preferred.
3. Minimum 3-5 years experience supporting marketing and/or product development teams.
4. Experience using design and photo editing software tools (Adobe) is required.
5. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a multitude of different tasks.
6. Strong attention to detail.
7. Great team player yet able to work independently.
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
9. Proficient use of MS Office suite of products (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint & Excel).
