The Human Resource Director will work closely with the Head of School and school Directors to oversee personnel affairs, managing a wide range of tasks.
Responsibilities- Hiring: Oversee recruiting, interviewing, and hiring new staff, supporting the process.
- Performance Evaluation: Provide performance evaluation templates and create systems for continuous feedback and development.
- Benefits: Establish and manage employee benefits programs, including health, dental, naturopath reimbursement, life, retirement, and disability plans.
- Policies: Develop and implement HR policies for the organization.
- Culture: Foster a positive culture and promote employee well-being.
- Labor Relations: Manage the balance between the organization and its workforce.
- Training: Provide systems for training and developing staff.
- Dispute Resolution: Mediate employee relations issues and assist with disciplinary actions.
- Communication: Communicate with brokers, vendors, contractors, and insurance carriers.
- Employee Policies: Create, manage, and monitor employee policies and procedures that support the school's objectives and comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Benefits Enhancement: Enhance the employee benefit programs, develop programs such as employee recognition, wellness program, etc.
- Conflict Resolution: Lead and support leadership and employees in addressing and resolving workplace conflicts, executing proper disciplinary and termination protocol.
- Benefits Analysis: Regularly analyze benefits plans for market competitiveness, research and recommend alternative options as necessary.
- Culture Promotion: Consistently promote and perpetuate the school culture and values.
- HR Programs: Develop HR programs and identify key HR metrics (employee engagement surveys, critical turnover) to analyze and solve problems impacting organizational effectiveness.
- Partnership: Partner with leadership to identify and address critical needs, achieve goals that support a long-range HR strategy.
- Insurance Oversight: Oversee and direct appropriate health, dental, and life insurance policies for school employees.
- Retirement Plan: Oversee and direct an effective school employee retirement plan.
- Employee Lifecycle: Oversee the complete employee life-cycle from recruitment to retirement.
- Staff Review: Assist leaders in the staff (non-faculty) review process.
- Afterschool Meetings: Attendance at afterschool meetings (past 4PM) may be required from time to time.
- School Breaks: Work may be required for a portion of school breaks: Thanksgiving, Winter, and Spring Break.
