Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Managing Director for the Workplace Justice Lab@RU at the School of Management and Labor Relations.

Key Duties

- Works with the Faculty Director of the Workplace Justice Lab @RU in the School of Management and Labor Relations to lead strategic development, growth and planning for the Center.
- Oversees the setting and implementation of goals and provides daily leadership, direction, and coordination for the Center.
- Works with key staff to coordinate strategic communication, fundraising, training, and staff team building and management.

Minimum Education and Experience

- Bachelor's degree in Planning, Social Work, Public Policy, Labor Studies, Political Science or other related field; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates comprehensive knowledge and understanding of management and administrative principles and practices.
- Five (5) years of relevant professional experience in administrative or similar function.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Excellent communication skills and computer literacy.
- Experience in labor or community organizing.
- Experience in project management and grant management (grant writing and reporting).
- Experience in fundraising.
- Experience and comfort with communications.

Preferred Qualifications

- MA/S or MBA (Planning, Social Work, Public Policy, Labor Studies, Political Science or other related).
- Experience working with worker justice organizations.
- Experience working on labor standards and or civil rights enforcement.
- Experience with training and partnership development.
