We are currently hiring for a Records Management Specialist – Intermediate opportunity with the *Government of Alberta (GoA).

About the Role:
The Records Management Specialist – Intermediate will provide Access to Information (ATI) request support to the Information and Privacy Office. This role involves reviewing confidential records prior to disclosure, applying legislative exemptions, preparing summaries and recommendations, and ensuring compliance with provincial and federal access to information legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply expertise in Alberta’s Access to Information Act (ATIA), Alberta’s former FOIP Act, and Canada’s Access to Information Act to identify and apply exemptions and exceptions to disclosure
- Review confidential records and prepare summaries and recommendations for management review
- Coordinate day-to-day processing of access to information requests in compliance with statutory duties
- Clarify access requests and consult with departmental staff and stakeholders as required
- Track milestones and coordinate tasks throughout the ATI request lifecycle
- Provide guidance and support on records management practices within the department
- Prepare summaries, chronologies, and supporting documentation as needed
- Liaise with the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner during investigations and reviews
Additional Information:
- Full-time, onsite role in *Edmonton*
- Collaboration with Information and Privacy Office teams
- Strong understanding of legislative compliance and records management best practices required
