Position Overview
As our Financial Analyst, you will manage the financial aspects of contracts, including project setup, budget changes, revenue recognition, invoicing, and accounts receivable. You will prepare forecasts, financial reports, and variance analyses, while supporting project accounting processes and reviewing work from junior analysts. Reporting to the Manager, Project Accounting, you will collaborate across departments and with external stakeholders to ensure accurate financial management and compliance with accounting standards.

Your Day to Day as our Financial Analyst
- Oversee financial management for complex Fixed Price and Time & Material contracts, including project setup, budget monitoring, revenue recognition per ASC606, and accounting for F/X forward contracts.
- Maintain projects in SAP and Timberline, manage contract changes, complete month‑end accruals, and prepare monthly project variance reports.
- Work with Project Managers to prepare and issue customer invoices, reconcile WIP, and monitor accounts receivable to ensure timely collections.
- Develop monthly and quarterly forecasts for backlog and new projects, collaborating with Project Managers, Project Controls, and purchasing to forecast revenue, costs, cash flow, and gross profit.
- Prepare comprehensive documentation for internal project reviews, including contract profit statements, billing schedules, risk and opportunity assessments, and critical issue tracking.
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with SOX, COSO, and other corporate financial standards, while providing requested financial data and updates to corporate templates.
- Perform account reconciliations across multiple systems and assist with special financial reporting requests to support management decision‑making.
Required Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in accounting or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of practical accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Accounting designation or enrollment is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with SAP is a plus.
- Advanced spreadsheet skills, including data analysis, VLOOKUPs, and macros.
- Detail‑oriented, hands‑on, with strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent relationship‑building skills and a collaborative, team‑oriented mindset.

The base salary range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $73,500 and $116,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment.
