It’s an exciting time to join the team at Hydro One Ass't Business Analyst (Fleet Services) Job Description: - Identify, analyze, develop recommendations and provide reports and cost/benefit studies for the following categories of work: Telematics and other technologies, Strategic Procurement, Financial Planning, Internal and External Reporting, Financial Forecasting, Financial Management and Internal Control, Business Planning, Fleet Cost Analysis, Predictability Maintenance, Fuel Management Support & tax credit, Hydro One Green Fleet Initiatives. - Assist in the development of strategies, policies, procedures and guidelines in assigned areas. Assist in the identification and resolution of emerging issues that cross Business Unit lines. Provide information, advice, training, guidance and assistance to business units or external groups, on the interpretation, explanation, application and implementation of corporate financial policies, procedures and guidelines. - Prepare reports relative to performance, productivity, business planning and control or the department. Prepare various monthly financial management reports as required for control of operations. - Assist as required in preparing and conducting formal presentations. - Keep abreast of developments in methods, designs and trends in assigned area and review possible implications of their application to Hydro One and Fleet Services. - Assist in the development of computer applications for departmental systems and records, collaborating with internal or external computing services and data centres in the development and operation of such applications, as required. - Perform other duties as required. Education: - Requires a knowledge of accounting and statistics to perform cost analysis and develop internal control and business planning policies. - Requires a knowledge of finance to perform short and long range forecasts and studies and maintain policies. - Requires a knowledge of computer system development and the current technological trends with respect to computer software and hardware. - Requires a good knowledge of English to communicate effectively with others. This knowledge is considered to be normally acquired through the completion of 4 years of University training (Grade XII plus 5 years). Experience: - Requires experience with Power BI, Excel or other analytical tools - Requires experience with financial planning, internal and external reporting, financial forecasting, financial management and internal control associated with fleet. - Requires experience with accounting procedures, guidelines, decision making process and structures to understand business plans and related corporate objectives and strategies. - A period of over 4 years and up to and including 6 years is considered necessary to gain this experience.
