Community League Risk Analyst
Reports To: Special Projects and Digital Platforms Senior Advisor
About the EFCL: The Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues (EFCL) represents and supports Edmonton’s 160 Community Leagues — volunteer-led organizations that strengthen connection, belonging, and recreation in every neighbourhood. The EFCL provides training, resources, advocacy, and programs that help Leagues operate effectively and thrive as cornerstones of community life. This is a temporary, full-time position (12-month term) funded through the Community League Infrastructure Program (CLIP). The position is expected to run from January through December 2026.
Position Summary
The Community League Risk Analyst will design and implement a data-driven framework to identify and flag potential risks facing Edmonton’s Community Leagues. Using data from infrastructure assessments, the Community League Operating Grant (CLOG) program, and other EFCL and City of Edmonton sources, this role will create integrated tools that evaluate and visualize risks related to infrastructure, governance, compliance, and overall League sustainability. This work will enable EFCL and City partners to proactively identify emerging challenges, prioritize supports, and strengthen the long-term health of the Community League movement.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate a Community League Risk Evaluation Framework that consolidates multiple data sources into unified League risk profiles.
- Define, weight, and test risk indicators across categories such as infrastructure, operations, governance, and financial sustainability.
- Develop and maintain data models, dashboards, and visualization tools that support ongoing risk monitoring and analysis.
- Create scalable tools that allow EFCL and City staff to interpret results and track changes over time.
Data Integration and Analysis
- Gather, clean, and align data from EFCL systems (e.g., the CLOG program database), infrastructure assessments, and other internal or partner datasets.
- Analyze trends and correlations to identify predictive risk patterns and emerging issues.
- Build and maintain dashboards and automated reporting tools that improve the accessibility and usability of EFCL’s risk data.
- Translate complex data findings into clear, actionable insights for EFCL and City partners.
Collaboration and Reporting
- Work closely with EFCL staff and City of Edmonton representatives to validate risk indicators and ensure alignment with shared objectives.
- Prepare reports and presentations summarizing findings, methodologies, and insights.
- Support training and documentation to ensure EFCL staff can maintain and operate the system beyond the project term.
Project Management
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, and reporting requirements under CLIP funding.
- Document data governance procedures, analytical methods, and system architecture.
- Ensure tools are secure, user-friendly, and scalable for future integration of new data sources.
Employment Details
Term: 12-month temporary, full-time contract (grant funded). Schedule: 30 – 37.5 hours per week. Work Location: Hybrid — combination of remote work and EFCL office (Edmonton). Compensation: $66,450-$70,375 annually, commensurate with experience. Benefits:
- Participation in EFCL’s health and dental plan (following 3 month probationary period).
- Three weeks’ vacation annually (pro-rated for contract length).
- Access to professional development opportunities.
