BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:
The Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) Specialist provides supplemental service support in the areas of conversions, ordering stock, vending solutions, putting orders away, 5S handling of service & equipment, and expediting.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports MSC customer solutions and sales associates.
- Understands company solutions, products, and services. Including limited technical product knowledge.
- Supports the implementation of Vendor Managed Inventory programs at customer locations.
- Establish productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customers.
- Maintain high customer satisfaction ratings that meet company standards.
- Unpack orders, checks accuracy of shipment and put stock away at customer locations.
- Ensure appropriate customer stock levels, generates new orders for merchandise, and obtains customer approval to place orders when required.
- Provides communication and feedback to the sales representative and supervisor as appropriate to ensure full customer satisfaction.
- Performs general (5S) housekeeping for service equipment and immediate area.
- Utilize company technology to completed daily tasks, order generation, tracking, and routing.
- Logs all events daily within the Service Management tool.
- Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.
- Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s mission.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- A High School Diploma or the equivalent is required.
- Supply chain and process improvement experience preferred.
- Customer service experience including one year of related industry experience is preferred.
SKILLS:
- Computer literacy and proficiency in word-processing and spreadsheet software is required.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills are also required.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Position requires over 80% consistent daily travel within district. Occasional overnight travel is also required.
- May need to lift up to 50 lbs. based on customer needs.

Compensation starting at $40000 - $55000 depending on experience. Plus a monthly bonus. Plus Car Program
The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate’s relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
