PRIDE Seeds is currently seeking a focused and self‑motivated individual to join our dynamic team as a Sales & Agronomy Associate 1 Year Maternity Leave Contract Position - MANITOBA. POSITION SUMMARY: PRIDE Seeds is currently seeking a focused and self‑motivated individual to join our dynamic team as a 1 Year Maternity Leave Contract Sales & Agronomy Associate, located in Manitoba with responsibilities in Saskatchewan and Alberta. The successful candidate will become part of a diligent team focused on delivering unique products, trusted agronomy and sales support to Canadian farmers and retail partners. The successful candidate will work directly with the sales, marketing and product development teams around the promotion and positioning of PRIDE corn hybrids with dealers in Western Canada. Position will report to PRIDE Seeds Vice President, Commercial. RESPONSIBILITIES - Collaborate with and support Sales Agronomists in Western Canada to drive sales growth and expand market share. - Drive growth in Western Canada by assisting with regional business plans and dealer/distribution analysis, while recruiting and developing dealers in high‑priority areas and actively pursuing new business opportunities. - Work with Marketing team and VP, Commercial to grow brand awareness and product sales. - Collaborate with Sales Agronomists to develop head‑to‑head and strip trial strategies, including plot layout design, operational logistics, and trial execution (planting, harvest, data collection, and product observation). Utilize data management systems to track trial locations, performance, and outcomes. - Assist in the development of agronomy support materials, training sessions, regional newsletters, and other resources in coordination with the sales and marketing teams. - Provide product‑specific agronomy information and training to growers, plot cooperators, retail partner staff. - Work with the Manager of Product Development and Agronomy in the evaluation of products and product needs for the PRIDE Seeds business. - Assist team in keeping industry third‑party and media informed on PRIDE Seeds and our key technology and product offerings and to position yourself as a key contact for information on agronomy topics during the growing season. - Support new PRIDE Seeds staff with relevant training, resources, and reliable support in‑field or virtually. - Coordination, installation of signs, on fields, and plots, to build brand awareness. - Assist with operating regional warehouses in territory to fill in‑season orders. - Maintain fiscal responsibility by operating within assigned budget. - Arrange and participate in business planning meetings with PRIDE Seeds staff and retail partners and assist Dealers in preparing and implementing their sales plans. - Assist in forecasting sales numbers for product and participate in the product advancement meeting. - Provide retail partners with detailed pricing program information, including structures, deadlines, incentives, and return policies. - Understand and communicate product supply, product performance and commercial line‑up changes to retail partners. - Collect accounts receivable and follow up on accounts where necessary. - Promote the brand image and marketing programs through the Dealer sales force. - Utilize digital tools and resources to drive sales. - Attend, assist and/or organize trade shows, trial tours and retail meetings to provide product performance insights and updates. - Maintain a strong communication link for the brand and keep the VP, Commercial advised of all major market developments in the district that affect sales and/or personnel. - Project a positive image of PRIDE Seeds and AgReliant Genetics and act in accordance with the Company’s Core Values. EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE - Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Agriculture, Agronomy, or related field preferred. - Minimum of three (3) years of sales experience sales/account management experience or 5 or more years of sales experience working in agriculture. - Experience working in the seed industry with an understanding of grain corn and silage corn production practices within Alberta and Western Saskatchewan. - Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) preferred. KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES - Ability to collaborate and work as part of a team. - Must have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driver’s abstract. - Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. - Financial, time, and territory management abilities. - Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously. - Excellent leadership, people management, and relationship/team building skills. - Demonstrated self‑motivation, initiative, assertiveness, and results orientation. - Knowledge of the seed industry preferred. - Ability to successfully work in a fast‑paced and changing environment. - Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). PHYSICAL DEMANDS - Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. - Ability to work outdoors 60% of the time. - Ability to walk fields and operate machinery.
