Role Description
We are seeking a dedicated Fundraising Officer to join our team in a full-time hybrid role based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada, with flexibility for partial remote work.
The Fundraising Officer will develop and implement fundraising campaigns, build and maintain donor relationships, manage donor databases, support digital fundraising initiatives, and prepare grant proposals and reports. The role may occasionally require working evenings and weekends during high-impact fundraising periods or events, as well as occasional travel for campaigns, donor engagement, or field initiatives.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure all fundraising activities align with HCI’s mission and long-term development goals.
Qualifications
- Strong Communication and Writing skills for crafting compelling proposals, donor communications, and reports
- Knowledge of Philanthropy and the nonprofit sector, particularly in areas such as fundraising for charities
- Excellent Organizational skills, including managing multiple tasks and prioritizing responsibilities effectively
- Ability to build and nurture donor relationships with professionalism and integrity
- Proficiency with donor databases and fundraising software (an asset)
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work in both in-office and remote environments
- Experience in fundraising, event coordination, or related roles is desirable
- Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, or a related field is preferred
