Youth for Christ Winnipeg Job Opportunity

Youth for Christ Winnipeg is looking for a highly motivated and organized individual to serve as the Accounting Coordinator. This role is essential for fulfilling the mission of YFC by ensuring the successful execution of accounting activities and financial reporting related to the operations of YFC Winnipeg. Located at 333 King St, the Youth for Christ Winnipeg office is home to ministries that reach thousands of young people each year.

A successful candidate will play a significant role in the success of YFC Winnipeg; your work will impact the young people who engage with the ministries at YFC. If you are passionate about helping others and want to use your skills and knowledge to support the ministry of YFC in changing the lives of youth, then this may be the position for you.

Responsibilities

1. Perform accounting tasks including Payables, Donation Processing, Cash Receipts, Credit Card Transactions, Deposits, and more.

2. Maintain an up-to-date spreadsheet in Excel of current donors.

3. Use bookkeeping software and maintain donation/donor databases, ensuring that all financial records are complete and accurate.

4. Assist with audits, identifying and resolving discrepancies.

Requirements

1. Maintain a close relationship with God as a devoted follower of Jesus Christ.

2. Be an active participant in the life of a local church.

3. Affirm and support our organization’s Community Covenant and Statement of Faith, and be committed to YFC’s mission.

4. In-depth understanding of Canadian accounting principles for non-profit organizations is an asset.

5. Associates Degree or Technical Certifications with major coursework in bookkeeping or accounting is an asset.

6. Two years of related experience (all accounting functions including payroll) is an asset.

7. Experience in using Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software (Power Church & Silent Partner).

8. Embrace YFC’s core values with a strong heart for evangelism.

9. Strong communication, organizational, and administrative skills.

10. Take initiative, pay close attention to detail, and be willing to adapt.

11. Able to work well in a team as well as independently.

12. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality.
