Join Carina Software, a portfolio group of Vela Software and Constellation Software, to work in our Mergers & Acquisition (M&A) Team. This is a great opportunity to apply your business development skills towards acquisitions in an entrepreneurial environment. The Business Development Associate will spend the majority of their time pro-actively reaching out to business owners and management teams of software companies in the Engineering and Forestry space to build and manage acquisition targets for our CEG group.

After demonstrating success in the core deliverables for this role, there may also be an opportunity to assist on ad-hoc projects with the deal team relating to later stage acquisition targets.

Responsibilities:

Deal Sourcing / Business Development:

- Manage and grow our M&A prospect database by identifying small, medium, and large sized software companies that meet our acquisition criteria in the Engineering and Forestry sectors.
- Nurture acquisition prospects by proactively initiating and maintaining relationships with owners of software businesses via cold calling, cold emailing, LinkedIn messaging and conferences.
- Conduct market research to evaluate potential acquisition prospects and obtain high-level financial and operational information about target companies.
- Initiate outbound prospecting calls and emails to connect with target companies.
- Develop and build relationships with CEOs, Presidents, and Owners.
