Project Coordinator/Assistant Project Manager

Overview

Our client is seeking a Project Coordinator or Assistant Project Manager to support a major long‑term care and multi‑use institutional project based in Pickering, Ontario. This site‑based position offers the opportunity to be part of a large, multi‑phase development scheduled to begin construction in January 2026. The ideal candidate will be detail‑oriented, growth‑minded, and ready to take on increasing responsibility within an established, reputable builder.

Responsibilities

- Provide project coordination support during preconstruction, construction, and closeout phases.

- Prepare, track, and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.

- Assist in developing and maintaining construction schedules using Procore.

- Collaborate closely with site teams, consultants, and trade partners to ensure project objectives are met.

- Support claims management, budget tracking, and cost reporting alongside the Project Manager.

- Attend site meetings, record minutes, and follow up on action items.

- Contribute to a collaborative and proactive jobsite culture rooted in quality, safety, and accountability.

Qualifications

- Minimum 5 years of construction experience, ideally as a Project Coordinator or Assistant Project Manager.

- Previous work with a general contractor delivering institutional, multi‑unit, or mixed‑use projects.

- Strong knowledge of document control, scheduling, and construction administration.

- Exceptional organizational and communication skills in client‑facing settings.

- Proficiency with Procore (training provided) and Microsoft Office applications.

- Ability to work primarily on‑site in Pickering, Ontario.
