Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering and Architecture oversees a team of 10+ professionals managing a diverse portfolio of functions, including strategic objective tracking and measurement, business intelligence, communications, financial governance, and contract management. Is this role right for you? - Lead an active engagement program with all GTEP Engineering and Architecture functional teams (e.g., Global Network Engineering, Global Platform Engineering, and Architecture Governance). - Drive the alignment and tracking of IT plans, department objectives, and strategy planning across Engineering & Architecture to ensure alignment with the overall Bank’s strategic plan. - Drive initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and optimize support for Engineering and Architecture teams. - Manage an operating budget of $145MM, ensuring precise financial forecasting and accuracy. Working directly with Finance. - Oversee annual hardware and software maintenance contract renewals for 30+ vendors, ensuring timely execution, accurate expenditure tracking, and driving cost savings. - Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of BI dashboards, and reporting systems. - Partner with leadership across Engineering and Architecture to identify key operational metrics that provide actionable insights that drive performance and ensure compliance. - Act as the communication arm for the VP, including the creation, socialization, and engage in executive level communications. - Plan, organize, and manage recurring town hall meetings to ensure effective communication and engagement across the organization of more than 300 employees. - Built and maintained strategic cross‑functional relationships throughout the organization, collaborating with Finance, Audit, IT Risk, Global Procurement, and various technology teams. - Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day‑to‑day activities and decisions. - Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. - Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day‑to‑day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. - Builds a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vision/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team. Should have at least 10 years of business/industry work experience. - 7 years of people management. - Spanish fluency is an asset.
