Systems Analyst – Senior

Location: Peterborough, Ontario (Remote)

Must Have:

- Specialized technical expertise in analyzing and designing system solutions related to Cyber Security and vulnerability remediation (CVE – Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures), including patching, uninstalling applications/components, applying bug fixes, and implementing code changes.
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Proven ability to identify, remediate, and mitigate known security threats or weaknesses through CVE-based findings.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with internal teams and external vendors.

Responsibilities:

- Provide senior technical analysis and coordination for assessing, researching, deploying, and testing remediations for Cyber Vulnerabilities (CVE) across applications and server operating systems.
- Deploy patches, upgrades, bug fixes, and uninstalls for applications, operating systems, middleware, and databases.
- Identify and implement innovative solutions to address CVEs reported by cybersecurity and technical platform teams.
- Partner with stakeholders to advise on technology solutions that support business objectives and improve organizational IT systems.
- Advise on identifying, analyzing, and resolving security risks, vulnerabilities, privacy concerns, and compliance with relevant security standards.
- Provide technical guidance while leveraging enterprise IT solutions to support program and service objectives.

General Skills (70%):

- Advanced expertise in system solution design related to cybersecurity and vulnerability remediation (CVE).
- Strong collaboration and communication with internal technical teams and third-party vendors.
- Ability to assess, remediate, and mitigate security vulnerabilities using CVE intelligence.
- Proficiency with diverse operating systems, middleware platforms, and database technologies.
- Ability to assess recommendations and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Experience defining short- and long-term project objectives related to vulnerability remediation and system requirements.
- Leadership in testing, integration, and implementation of system solutions.
- Experience leading technical aspects of projects throughout the full Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including planning, resource estimating, coordination, and status reporting.
- Strong requirements-gathering skills, translating business needs into technical specifications.
- Experience supporting or leading teams working with multi-dimensional/relational databases, Java, Citrix, GIS technologies, and related applications.
- Demonstrated experience designing and developing complex applications using relational and multi-dimensional databases.
- Ability to provide implementation and post-implementation support.
- Oversight of research and evaluation of software, hardware, and technology components related to cybersecurity and vulnerability remediation.
- Ability to recommend improvements to tools, standards, and performance criteria for application development.
- Provide coaching and direction to junior analysts throughout all SDLC stages.

Desirable Skills (30%):

- Experience reviewing, assessing, analyzing, and implementing remediations for cybersecurity vulnerabilities, especially CVEs.
- Knowledge of rapid application development (RAD) methodologies.
- Experience with middleware and gateway technologies.
- Understanding of Information Management principles, policies, and practices.
- Experience creating and maintaining documentation in alignment with established methodologies.
