Job Title: Director of Projects (Owner)

About the Role

Hays has teamed up with a reputable and growing developer in Edmonton who are seeking an experienced Director of Projects (Owners Rep) to lead a dynamic team responsible for delivering construction projects on time, on budget, and to the highest standards. This leadership role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in project management within general contracting or owner’s representative environments, who thrive on building relationships and driving operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee the successful execution of multiple construction projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Act as the primary liaison between leadership teams and project stakeholders, providing clear communication and regular updates on milestones and deliverables.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance client experience and project outcomes.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team, fostering professional growth and accountability.
- Collaborate with finance teams to manage project budgets and ensure financial objectives are met.
- Resolve client escalations and proactively manage risks to maintain strong relationships.
- Continuously assess and improve processes for efficiency and effectiveness.

What We’re Looking For

- 5+ years of experience in project management or operations within construction (general contractor or owner’s rep experience strongly preferred).
- 2+ years of leadership experience, including team management and mentorship.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, risk management, and financial oversight.
- Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with project management software
