JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Procurement, the Supply Chain and Procurement Specialist ensures optimal material planning and material flow management to achieve service level, inventory, and cost targets for the group. This role will require the development of advanced planning tools and analytics to improve forecast accuracy, mitigate risks, and enhance supply chain resilience. The Specialist collaborates across production, procurement, logistics, and sales to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Analyse steel requirements for the entire group and submit purchasing and transfer recommendations to the rest of the team.
- Manage purchase and transfer orders for all the raw material required in production at the Strathroy plant ensuring compliance with negotiated agreements.
- Develop and maintain short/mid-term production plans for steel embossing based on sales forecasts, priorities, constraints, and available capacity.
- Generate work orders for embossing at Strathroy.
- Prepare reports and analysis to support decision-making (forecasts, capacity, scenarios). E.g., Weekly steel report for the entire group.
- Implement contingency plans to mitigate supply chain risks (supplier delays, demand fluctuations).
- Play on-site leader role on best inventory management practices with the operation team and proactively participate in the continuous improvement of inventory processes and tools.
- Ensure accurate inventory control through cycle counting and reconciliation processes.
- Proactively participate in the continuous improvement of planning processes and tools (ERP, MRP).
- Collaborate with the Senior Buyer and/or Procurement Director in case of new sourcing demands, contract renewals or supplier performance issues.
- Collaborate with production, purchasing, sales and logistics teams to align priorities and manage disruptions.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar position in a manufacturing organization.
- University degree in administration, supply chain, or another field related to procurement, combined with equivalent experience.

- Bilingual (English/French) — an asset
