About the Role:
Reporting to the Project Director for the Brunswick Smelter Closure Project, the successful candidate will be responsible for the management, planning, and execution of the transportation of debris, sludges, and soils resulting from site reclamation activities. The Logistics Supervisor will lead the planning, procurement, and execution of trucking activities both at the generating site, Brunswick Smelter, and at Brunswick Mine, the receiving site for select approved materials.

The position will require an individual with a proven track record in supervision and extensive knowledge on mobile equipment operation, who will lead multiple teams to safely and successfully achieve the following:

- Provide leadership in safety and ensure the HSEC policies are followed, including Glencore's Fatal Hazard Protocols and Life Saving Behaviours.
- Assist in reviewing incidents and near misses.
- Ensure continued documentation of safety training and permits.
- Develop the scope of work for the procurement of trucking and trucking support services specific to trucking activities at the Brunswick Smelter and trucking to Brunswick Mine.
- Coordinate the transportation of materials from Brunswick Smelter to Brunswick Mine.
- Schedule and assign trucks to meet project timelines.
- Communicate with drivers and suppliers to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor the movement of vehicles and materials to ensure safety and compliance.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments and inventory.
- Coordinate with contractors to ensure vehicles (trucks and trailers) meet the required specifications and are in good condition.
- Resolve any issues or delays with shipments in a timely manner.
- Work with contractors to arrange for additional capacity when needed.
- Manage logistics and supply chain operations to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
- Follow up on loads to ensure they arrived safely and on time.
- Coordinate emergency response as per standard operating procedure.
- Collaborate with the Environmental Supervisor, the Construction Manager, and the remainder of the project team.

What You Bring:

- A vocational diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or any other related field, with relevant work experience.
- 5-10 years experience in the logistics field.

- Proven track record in supervision and extensive knowledge of mobile equipment operations.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to lead multiple teams and manage logistics efficiently.

- Ability to resolve issues or delays promptly and coordinate effectively under pressure.
- Experience in managing logistics and supply chain operations, with an emphasis on safety and compliance.
