Responsibilities

- Acting as the technical architect for ClearlyIP’s UCaaS development team.
- Providing guidance and code reviews to other development team members.
- Designing and implementing backend and frontend software for the UCaaS platform.
- Performing troubleshooting and analysis for issues reported by Quality Assurance, Support, or customers.
- Integrating third-party cloud APIs and libraries.
- Designing and developing scalable, distributed APIs and software, with a strong emphasis on security, scalability, and reliability.
- Utilizing strong analytical skills to comprehend performance indicators and optimize services and networks as required.
- Managing redundant services and clusters that necessitate high availability.
- Employing best practices in coding and software development to produce highly efficient, scalable, and secure software.

Requirements

- Skills & Background: To qualify for this position, candidates must demonstrate a good enough knowledge of English and/or French with some basic knowledge of the second language in order to be able to properly exchange, communicate and collaborate within a dynamic and multi cultural environment.
- A solid understanding of network protocols, particularly WebSockets and HTTPS, is essential for building secure and efficient web applications. The ideal candidate will also exhibit a strong aptitude for quickly learning and adapting to new technologies and development tools, crucial in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
- Good knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL. Strong proficiency in source control tools like GIT and Subversion. The role requires an understanding of multi-system-based applications, indicating the ability to work with complex, distributed architectures.
- Excellent backend and frontend debugging skills. Proven experience in building scalable and redundant server-side software and APIs on the Linux platform.
- Experience with VoIP and open-source telephony stacks (e.g., Asterisk, Freeswitch) and WebRTC are advantageous.
