Summary

As a Manager, Engineering and Drafting at Royal Homes, you will lead a team of drafters and designers in creating detailed plans and specifications for our custom home projects. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our designs meet both client expectations and industry standards, contributing to our mission of delivering exceptional homes.

Responsibilities

- Oversee the drafting team to ensure high-quality design and drafting standards are met.
- Review and approve designs for accuracy, compliance with Ontario Building Codes and feasibility before construction begins.
- Utilize software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Civil 3D to create detailed architectural drawings.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders and partners, including architects, engineers, and project managers, aiding in the design, permit inquiries, and development of comprehensive project plans.
- Provide mentorship and training to junior drafters to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Stay updated on building code updates, industry trends and technologies to continuously improve engineering, design, and drafting processes.

Qualifications

- This is an on-site role - ability to commute daily to our location in Wingham, ON is required.
- Must be a registered BCIN designer qualified for minimum small residential housing, or hold a P.Eng, actively practicing and competent to seal residential drawing and design packages for permit approvals in Ontario.
- Proven knowledge and experience with the Ontario Building Code, specifically with residential construction.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Civil 3D.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Prior experience leading direct reports is a must.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality assurance in all designs.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with various stakeholders.
- Prior experience working with BIM applications is preferred.
- Familiarity with SolidWorks and MicroStation is a plus but not mandatory.
